The Library is pleased to be able to open 24 hours once again this year.
In response to student feedback, 24 hour opening will be split into two periods: two weeks at the end of the Spring term and six weeks at the start of the Summer term.
First period:
Monday 9 March to Friday 19 March.
Second period:
Tuesday 14 April to Friday 22 May.
During these weeks the Library will open at 08:30 on Monday and will close at midnight on Friday. For full details of our opening hours, the services you can expect, and our extended Easter opening, please see our opening hours web page.
Important points to note with regard to our services between midnight and 08:30 are as follows:
Normal Library regulations will apply during this period and will be enforced by security staff.
Entrance to the Arcade and the Library will be strictly by student card ONLY.
Food and drink may be consumed in the Learning Lounge ONLY and will not be permitted in any other area.
Please ensure all litter is cleared away and placed in the bins provided.
Please respect noise zones and only use mobile phones in the stairwells.
These regulations are for your comfort and for the comfort of your fellow students.
PLEASE NOTE: For environmental reasons the building needs to be fully vented for a two hour period between 03:00 and 05:00 each night. During these times all vents in the building will open and the temperature will fall noticeably. This process is essential in removing stale air from the building and replenishing with fresh.
